METABOLIC LANDSCAPES

The theoretical classes propose the exploration of Barcelona through images and cartographic analysis, statistics and information about the city that social frame its inhabitants. The city understood as an artifice, as a place of maximum territorial intensity and tension: A privileged space of exchange and accumulation, necessarily incomplete and open. Under construction.

An exploration complemented by the direct interpretation that only appears in a careful, attentive and curious visit of the places. The graphical discussion of these complementary readings indirectly fixes a certain habit of work and reflection of landscapes, not immediate, that allows imagining strategies of work and at the same time evaluates the implications of the intervention.

The work of the course will consist of a drawing of a city (sum / collage of drawings at different scales and with complementary methods), focusing on free space, public and green. A written work that will allow to recognize, value and discuss their training through different strategies on the space not built.
