LANDSCAPE DESIGN STUDIO III
PROFESSORS: SARA BARTUMEUS + MARTÍ FRANCH
ECTS: 10
SCHEDULE: WED 14.30-20.30
URBAN LANDSCAPES
ECOLOGY, COMMUNITY & DIVERSITY
This subject examines territorial structures from a spatial perspective to identify the elements that determine the territory’s specific nature and atmosphere.
Students work on visualisation of the water cycle and native vegetation in the public space, while they develop an understanding of the urban metabolism on a small, flexible scale. They examine alternative models of relationships between citizens and pedestrianised spaces.
As a real experience, students undertake a process in which the local population participates in their projects. They present their work to residents and incorporate people’s demands into their projects.
Students will investigate and design a main strategy on the scale of a master plan and will design a section of it in detail, in relation to five topics:
THE GREEN-BLUE STRUCTURE
THE NETWORK OF PUBLIC SPACES
THE INTEGRATION OF GREEN AREAS INTO URBAN FABRICS
TACTICAL SHARED SPACES
CORPORATE ECOLOGIES
